Dr. Andrew T. Goodrich was named Director of Athletics at The University of Akron on May 12, 2025.
Goodrich joined UA from Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs, N.C., where he served as vice president and director of athletics since 2022.
Under his direction, the Gardner-Webb athletics’ programs earned seven conference championships, seven Big South Conference Athlete of the Year award recipients and five Big South Coach of the Year accolades.
Prior to arriving at Gardner-Webb, Goodrich served as Deputy Director of Athletics & Chief Marketing Officer at Syracuse from 2018-2022. Goodrich also negotiated the largest e-commerce deal in Syracuse history – nearly double the size of the previous agreement – and led the school’s marketing efforts to launch the ACC Network into over 40 million homes nationwide.
